Our History
The founding Alpha Chapter of Alpha Delta Chi began at UCLA in 1925. The founders sought to create Christian fellowship in Greek life.
In 1929 Karin Anderson Dyer and Edith Bishop McAulay organized Beta Chapter at UC Berkeley.
The first annual convention was held in Berkeley, CA on April 6–7, 1939. The National Association and Board were formed then.
In June 1943 at the National Convention, the organization’s name was changed from Arete to Alpha Delta Chi.
100 Years of Alpha Delta Chi was celebrated in February 2025 in the Centennial National Convention celebrated with sisters across the nation virtually on Zoom.
